Manini Service and Hilti Italia Together for Seismic Safety
Following an innovative and thorough research activity, the high-tech division of Manini Prefabbricati is about to introduce to the market a seismic connection device jawfix®, which will be installed using Hilti anchors to ensure the safety of industrial buildings
Assisi, December 2, 2022 – Manini Service announces the certification of compliance with UNI EN 15129 standard for a seismic dissipation system consisting of jawfix® and Hilti fasteners. The combination of the two technologies allows offering the market a real tool for seismic upgrading of prefabricated buildings.
The collaboration between Hilti, a world leader in the supply of products, systems, and services for construction, Manini Prefabbricati, and Manini Service leverages the result of years of research and development to introduce an innovative solution in the field of seismic rehabilitation of industrial prefabricated structures.
The design concept, implemented following the most notable seismic events and defined in the jawfix® system, takes off in the industrial context and is qualified by specific and measurable mechanical characteristics, capable of supporting the structural organism by giving it the response characteristics of node adaptation in terms of performance.
Its main feature is the dissipation of force through the friction mechanism.
The special anchors produced and supplied by Hilti are characterized by high performance in terms of mechanical resistance. Made with the highest technologies, they represent an added value to ensure the fastening of the dissipation system between beam and column produced by Manini Prefabbricati and used by the Manini Service Division.
The advantage of the studied technology ensures the continuity of building use during a seismic swarm, without the need for invasive interventions. The jawfix® devices have in fact been designed to function perfectly even after a severe earthquake.
This collaboration between Hilti Italia and Manini Prefabbricati, which has resulted in a true technical partnership, will allow offering the market a 360° service: from on-site inspection to assistance on the construction site, with particular attention to testing on anchoring devices.
